Chicago politics
Is it just me that feels like every person who is elected as a top position in our chicago government is somehow corrupt? How is it that this new guy has had a criminal history and almost killed his ex-girlfriend or prostitute, whatever the story is, how can he even run for a position? Do they not run a backround check on these guys? I work at menards and had to have a backround check for a job that pays a few thousand a year, but this guy who is running for a top position in our city who will definitely make alot more than me somehow got to bypass a backround check? How is that fair? What is wrong with this city? They would rather drain our pockets by making taxes higher than making this a better city to live in!!! this is not ok!! when will we get a decent politician in this city? does anyone feel this way?

There's actually a reason why it seems only the corrupt get elected. First of all, most of them are corrupt on some level. But occasionally candidates do come along who are actually honest (there were a couple in the election we just had).
ReplyDeleteThe problem is, these honest people tell the truth about things instead of just telling people what they want to hear, and as a result, very few people vote for them. Instead, people go out and vote for the politicians who tell them what they want to hear, even if what they say and what they do are two very different things.
